Repair in place, a broken 17" diameter turbine shaft for a 9,000 h.p. hydro-electric unit.

SOLUTION:

Design, manufacture and install a unique split sleeve solid coupling.

RESULTS:

In less than 4 weeks from the day we were notified that the job was ours, the unit was back in service. We realigned the shaft after the first year, and it has been in service for over three years.

Frequent failure (1-1 1/2 years) of an O.E.M. drive assembly. Resulted in excessive down time, high cost, and long lead time (16 weeks) for replacement.

SOLUTION:

Used stronger metal alloys and heat treated the parts to resist wear.

RESULTS:

We manufactured a stronger assembly for 10% less cost and delivered it in 4 weeks. Our parts have been in service for 8 years with no failures; greatly reducing costly down time.
